| The Teacher Skill Development
Program developed by The Netride is designed to meet the
professional development needs of teachers in schools - primary and secondary. The core principles of The Netride's approach
are:
- Context specific skill development.
Skill development is of dubious value unless the
development occurs within a context meaningful to the learner. The desired
outcomes determine the context.
- Collaborative program design.
Top-down information technology inservice programs
produce few outcomes. The Netride works with schools, departments within
schools and individual teachers to determine their specific requirements and desired
outcomes.
- A non-dependency approach.
Learners who learn how to learn have a high
productivity rate. They can continue to develop their knowledge in the absence of
"expert" trainers.
The quality of a computer user's experience
determines their subsequent attitude to using information technology. Low quality
experiences tend to alienate learners.
A fundamental principle of adult learning is the
element of fun. High quality, context-specific experiences that are enjoyable are
fundamental to the production of qaulity outcomes.
I look forward to working with you and your staff
in the future.
