AutoLayout Dialog BoxBeginning with PowerPoint

From the opening screen, choose Template choose the BLUSH design. When the AutoLayout dialog box appears, choose the layout that has a bullted list on the left and an image on the right.

Step 1 - Adding a title to the slide
Click in the text frame that says Click to add title. Put in the title text for the slide - My First Show

Step 2 - Adding bulleted text points
Click in the text frame that says Click to add text. Type three lines of text making sure you press the ENTER after each line:

  • I can type text
  • I can insert images
  • I can control the movement of each of them

Step 3 - Inserting images
Put your mouse pointer on the character in the images frame and double click on the images frame that says Double click to add clip art. Choose All Categories and then choose any image that takes your fancy.

Step 4 - Save it as a file
Save the presentation as yourname.

Custon Animation Dialog BoxStep 5 - Animation
Look at the menu bar and choose Slide Show |  Custom Animation. You should see a dialog box with 4 tabs - Timing, Effects, Chart Effects, Play Settings.

Text

  1. Choose the text object and click the Animate radio button. Notice how now there is an entry in the top white area called Animation Order.
  2. Choose the Effects tab and choose an effect and/or sound from the lists in the Entry Animation and sound section. You can see the result of the effect by choosing Preview.
  3. In the Introduce Text section you can control how the text appears - All at once, by word or by letter. Make some choice and then choose Preview to see the effect.

Image

  1. Choose the image object and click the Animate radio button. Notice how now there is another entry in the top white area called Animation Order.
  2. Choose the Effects tab and choose an effect and/or sound from the lists in the Entry Animation and sound section. You can see the result of the effect by choosing Preview.

Click OK when you have finished.

Step 6 - Full Screen Display
Click Slide Show | View Show. Press the Escape key to return to the design mode.

Step 7 - Adding more slides
To add more slides to your presentation, choose Insert | New Slide on the menu bar.
