Action Buttons

Action buttons in PowerPointUsually, the user of your presentation will click the mouse button or press a key to go to the next slide. There are times when you will want the user to go to a specific slide or load another PowerPoint presentation. You can use an action button for this purpose. Visually, the button appears to depress when the user clicks on it.

Action Button Dialog Box Action Buttons are an AutoShape and can be inserted by choosing AutoShapes from the Drawing toolbar.  If you have not already saved your presentation, you will be asked to and then a dialog box appears.  You can see from the options that there are many options for the action button.  You can linked to any slide within this presentation or within another PowerPoint presentation.  You can run another program such as Excel.   The options are there.  It is up to your imagination to determine how best to utilise them.
